The
224th VMFS was commissioned on Saturday, March 10th, 2001 with the
task of recreating in the virtual world events that took place in
the Pacific Theatre of operations during the years 1942 to 1945.
Our primary purpose is the protection of CV-6 U.S.S. Enterprise
from enemy attack. Secondary missions include escort duties and
close air support. We are occasionally used as a detachment to reinforce
airbases in the Solomon Islands as well as others.
